The Construction Section supervises construction of all Agency construction projects designed and constructed by the Agency, with a few exceptions.  Agency projects include all highways and bridges on the State system, many town highway roads and bridges, pedestrian/bike paths, and all State-owned railroad and airport projects. To meet its responsibility of oversight the Construction Section assigns qualified "Resident Engineers," either Agency employees or contracted specialists, to each project site to continually observe and inspect the work performed by contractors, and to ensure that projects are built according to their plans and specifications.
