The Statewide Travel Demand Forecasting (TDF) model is used to analysis existing and future regional travel patterns based on changing demographics as well as quantify the traffic impacts from major proposed developments.  It utilizes demographic characteristics and transportation networks to simulate travel activities of population and employment centers.  TDF modeling is a support tool for VTrans Planning and Program Development projects, and upon request, to regional and community transportation and development planning.
