Stormwater Compliance and Management Program

Asset Management

The Stormwater Compliance Management Program carries out field inventory, mapping, and assessment of highway corridor and other transportation system stormwater infrastructure as part of our asset management program. Mapping and understanding the condition of our stormwater collection, conveyance and treatment infrastructure better informs budgeting and planning decision-making regarding ongoing operation and maintenance of this infrastructure.

This effort also serves to satisfy permit conditions under multiple State administered Stormwater Permits, including the MS4 General Permit regarding the identification and elimination of Illicit Discharges into the VTrans stormwater management system from non-VTrans sources and the Stormwater Discharge Permits (GP 3-9015) regarding the operation and maintenance of constructed stormwater collection, conveyance and treatment infrastructure (Permit and Regulatory Guidance).
