Welcome to the VTrans Research and Development Home Page. As a subsidiary of the Materials and Research Section, our offices are located in Berlin, VT within the Central Laboratory. Our mission is to enhance the quality and condition of Vermont’s infrastructure through the assessment of innovative technologies using engineering practices and principles as well as experimental materials, and to facilitate the implementation of beneficial and cost effective technologies. The Research and Development Unit also administers the review and acceptance of new products and maintains the Agency’s New Products List. We play an active role in national and regional research efforts including pooled fund studies and organizations such as the New England Transportation Consortium. |
