Right of Way - Acquisition

The Acquisition unit is responsible for preparing all legal documents relating to the acquisition of property and easements for transportation projects; makes offers to the affected owners, acts as a liaison between the owner and the agency, and coordinates mortgage releases and other documents; and provides assistance in relocating displaced families and businesses to suitable replacement housing and facilities.

The Property Management responsibilities of the Acquisition Unit includes managing properties acquired for a project, coordinating the lease and sale of surplus highway right-of-way, maintaining the existing highway right-of-way inventory, and researching and providing right-of-way information.
