On a continuous basis, we offer funding to
eligible WOMEN and MINORITY MALES to help with the cost of
classroom training for those who are already working in, or who are
interested in employment in the highway construction industry.
Eligible females and minority males will have the opportunity to
take classes at Associated General
Contractors of Vermont for $25 per class! VTrans will pay the
balance with funding from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Registration deadline for all classes is one week prior to the class.
Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible. Register for
as many classes as you would like!
Please send your completed
Registration Form
and a check in the amount of $25 (per class selected) made payable to
AGC-VT in an envelope addressed to Melanie Lopez (address below).
Take a look at the
2013 Course Catalogue to
see what training is available! Use the above Registration form to
secure your seat in class!
Please note: There is an error in the catalog - AGC/AOT Heavy
Equipment Training will not be offered in 2013.
For the purpose of diversifying the workforce in highway construction,
the term eligible "minority" refers to both females of any
ethnicity and males of any ethnic group that have historically faced
discrimination or systemic socio-economic disadvantage, so much that
there is a noticeable lack of diversity in the industry. The program is
funded by the Federal Highway Administration and is a direct result of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964, for the purpose of advancing
non-discrimination and creating equal opportunity. For more information
see: Office
of Civil Rights & Labor Compliance.
